The Newest Positioning Lasers in Radiation Oncology
Patient positioning lasers are a vital tool for medical facilities, assisting in the location, imaging, and treatment of cancerous cells by precisely positioning patients and highlighting the treatment area with lasers. Precision is essential, as minimization of radiation exposure to healthy cells is of highest priority. Not all patient positioning lasers are created equal, though. Each company uses its own research and development to create state-of-the-art machines. In this competitive market, CYRPA stands above the rest.
Since entering the US market in 2014, CYRPA has quickly established its reputation as an innovator. The SmartPhantom automatic adjustment system can quickly calibrate (around 10 minutes, compared to up to two hours for competitors) and be within a 0.2 mm range of accuracy; LAP Lasers currently adjust to within 0.25 mm. This is of course for those few times when your lasers need to be calibrated. CYRPA’s stability has been recognized by physicists and technicians as well beyond expectation.
LAP Laser and CYRPA have similar specs for their positioning lasers. For red and green lasers, both provide a line length in excess of 3 meters, the maximum power output is similar, and they work on the same wavelength. However, the reason we are proud to be CYRPA’s US distributor is for the differences, not the similarities.
CYRPA’s models can have up to six positioning lasers for greater accuracy; LAP’s ASTOR model has up to four cross hairs available. CYRPA offers a double-diode model so that you can change from red to green lasers with the touch of a button on a tablet or computer, allowing for accommodation of more patients of differing skin tones; LAP lasers have a fixed diode that is either red or green.
CYRPA’s relative newness to the US market could be viewed by some as a detriment; established brands have been around longer and built a reputation cultivated over years. However, do not forget that CYRPA’s newness also means that they have worked tirelessly to innovate and make the best-possible positioning lasers so that they can compete with established brands like LAP Laser without the benefit of brand loyalty. CYRPA’s machines must stand solely upon their quality and innovations. And we believe that they do. From automatic calibration to two-diode design to the best precision on the market, CYRPA is poised to take on any challengers.
