The Sensation series are all water cooled systems and require and outdoor chiller. They are known to have a larger footprint and should be considered when planning an installation. The Sensation comes with either a Straton 8.0 MHU X-ray tube or an Akron Q 5.3 MGU tube. The Straton X-ray tube is incredibly expensive to replace and has the potential to sink profits, whereas the Akron tube is much less expensive in need of replacement. Sensation systems are more suitable for centers that have a high patient volume.
