Radiology Oncology Systems was formed in 1997 with the goal of providing radiation oncology and diagnostic imaging facilities around the world with quality, cost-effective solutions for their equipment needs. The rapidly changing technological advances in radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging have fueled the demand for facilities to add or replace equipment at record levels. Since its inception, ROS has helped facilities both in the US and abroad take advantage of the market environment and acquire excellent equipment at significant cost savings.

Management Team

John Vano - President

John has navigated the growth of ROS through its stages as Radiation Oncology Systems, LLC, Radiation Oncology Systems, LP and now Radiology Oncology Systems, Inc. ROS is now one of the leading radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging brokerage and sales firms in the United States. John’s role in the firm is to assist and develop the firm’s associates, to ensure the satisfaction of its customers, and to support and promote its business partners.

Prior to joining ROS, John's prior experience includes consumer package goods marketing at the Coca-Cola Company and sports product development and licensing at the Upper Deck Company. John is a native of San Antonio, Texas, frequently visits family in Spain, and enjoys travel. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, summa cum laude, from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA degree from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

Greg Bare - Vice President

As the Vice President of Sales and Operations at ROS, Greg’s role is to keep the company focused on providing cost-effective medical equipment solutions to ROS’s customers worldwide. Greg spearheaded the company’s growth in the diagnostic imaging business and is currently focused on identifying the opportunities that fulfill the company’s mission.

Greg is focused on customer satisfaction through a consultative sales approach and an in depth product knowledge within the radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging fields. Greg studied Business at the Point Loma Nazarene University. He is an avid tennis player, wine aficionado, golf enthusiast, and music lover.

Ed Brown - Senior Manager

As one of the veterans of the ROS Team, Ed has expertise in a variety of areas, including sales, logistics, project management and customer support. Ed’s work within the firm involves scheduling and managing large equipment projects, working with customers, vendors and support specialists. Ed’s prior work experience in both technical and legal functions provide him with a strong background for his current responsibilities.

Ed is a native of Connecticut, graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Gerontology, and has been a proud resident of San Diego ever since. He is a devoted sports fan, and is often cheering on the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Lakers. Ed enjoys hiking and surfing, and has recently become a scuba diving instructor.

Chad Kimber - Project Manager

Chad Kimber’s role within the firm includes managing the firm’s inventory of linear accelerators, CT Scanners and related products and parts. In any given week, Chad may be found at a job site, coordinating and managing a removal, relocation or installation. Chad’s prior experience includes logistics, warehousing, and sales--all valuable skills he now utilizes at ROS. Chad is also the Senior Manager for NDT Sales and industrial imaging.

Chad is a native of Michigan where he currently resides. He enjoys snowboarding, fly fishing and boating. Most of all, he is an ardent golfer. He loves to play competitively as a three-handicap, teaches the sport in his free time, and once hit a “hole-in-one.”

Michael Teague - Director, Radiation Oncology

Michael’s focus at ROS is to provide clients with radiation therapy equipment solutions -- linear accelerators, simulators, CT simulators, HDR units, and more. As a senior sales associate, Michael enjoys working with customers worldwide providing creative, cost-effective solutions. Michael has a background in sales marketing and management and enjoys working on complex, challenging assignments.

Michael grew up in Virginia and has lived in Hawaii, Costa Rica, and California. He received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing Information Systems from James Madison University in Harrisburg, VA. In his free time, Michael enjoys traveling and surfing.

Andrew Ecklund - Client Manager, Radiation Oncology

Andrew is a member of the radiation oncology equipment team, helping customers in the U.S. find the right equipment solution for their facility.

A California native, Andrew grew up in San Luis Obispo and received a football scholarship to attend Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, where he played football and baseball for all four years. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. Andrew’s past work experience was in the health and fitness industry and worked in physical therapy prior to joining ROS.

Seth Ball - Assistant Client Manager, Radiation Oncology

Seth joined ROS as a member of the Radiation Oncology team, with primary focus on sales and acquisitions of linear accelerators, CT's and various other radiation therapy equipment.  He views the task of uncovering opportunities and providing cost-effective solutions tailored for customers' needs as a unique and welcome challenge.

Seth is originally from the east coast where he played rugby while attending Boston University and later the University of Maine, where he received a BS in Exercise Science.  

In Seth's free time he enjoys leading an active, healthy lifestyle, cooking, and teaching himself to play the guitar.

Julia Keneipp - Director, International

Julia joined ROS to fulfill her passion of international business development. While at ROS, Julia has helped the firm develop and execute complex business opportunities throughout the U.S., Latin America and Europe. Julia is fluent in three languages--English, Spanish and Portuguese--and has lived, traveled and worked extensively in Latin America.

Julia holds a bachelors degree in International Relations with a focus on Latin American Foreign Policy and a minor in Spanish Literature from the University of Colorado. She is a Colorado native, loves to hike, snowboard, camp, and travel internationally. She also enjoys running, has completed two marathons, and teaches indoor cycling.

J. Phillip Hirschfelder - Associate Client Manager, International

Phillip’s responsibilities at ROS include international sales of radiation therapy equipment (linear accelerators, CT simulators, conventional simulators, HDR, and related parts and services). He is a self-labeled “customer-focused polyglot,” who speaks fluently in English, Spanish and German. He joins ROS with several years of sales management experience in car rental, travel insurance and related businesses.

Phillip was born in Venezuela and grew up in Florida, where he obtained a BA in Global Management with a minor in Economics from the University of Florida. He has lived in Dubai, the UK, Switzerland and Peru, and boasts travel to a total of 30 countries. Phillip enjoys all types of ocean activities (surfing, water skiing and scuba diving), as well as hiking and mountain biking.

Walter Bergman - Senior Client Manager, New Products

Walter’s current assignment at ROS is National Sales Manager, New Products. Walter frequently travels around the country meeting with facilities, attending conferences and trade shows, and working with the New Products team. He works closely with the firms key partners, including Acceletronics, Theraview, C-Rad and Resonant Medical.

Walter’s extensive in sales and his personable approach have made him the natural leader to the New Products Team. He won the annual “spirit award” for his contagious, positive attitude, and his unwavering willingness to support his peers “in the trenches.” Walter attended the California State University, San Marcos and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration. Walter is an avid sportsman and has participated and completed three ironman triathlons. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching Chargers football, mountain biking, surfing, teaching indoor cycling, and travel.

Erik Johnson - Associate Client Manager, New Products

Erik joined ROS with a wide variety of sales and business experience in new product development and business development. Erik holds a US Patent and developed several companies in publishing, advertising, internet, and product exports.

Both scholar and athlete, Erik received both types of scholarships and graduated with honors from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He was an NCAA Division I Letterman in tennis and rowing, and graduated with honors. Raised in California, Erik has traveled extensively within the US and abroad, and has visited approximately 30 U.S. National Parks. His interests include classic automobiles and vintage watches.

Lee Laux - Regional Client Manager, New Products

Lee Laux brings to ROS over 20 years of sales and management experience in the healthcare field, primarily in capital equipment and IT sales. Lee has worked with Adria Laboratories, Toshiba America Medical Systems, ADAC Laboratories, Cerner/GE and Elekta Inc. His broad experience from capital equipment to information technology in the healthcare arena allows him to bring his customer unique and strategic solutions that position them as market leaders in their market.

Lee holds a BGS Degree from the University of Kansas. He has three children and has been married to, his wife Pam for 25 years. Lee enjoys playing and coaching ice hockey, playing golf, and is a cigar aficionado.

Administration & Marketing

Lauren Sparks - Director of Finance and Administration

Lauren's responsibilities include accounting, administration, and HR. Lauren came to ROS with several years experience in office management, including seven in the Veterinary Medicine field with VCA Animal Hospitals. She attended the College of Southern Maryland, and is the proud parent of four kids. When time permits, Lauren loves to spend time at the beach, reading a good book, or visiting her family on the east coast.

Katie Moran - Senior Associate, Marketing and Administration

Katie manages marketing campaigns and tradeshow coordination. She joined ROS with a background in sales operations and marketing coordination. She completed a double-major in marketing and general management from the A.B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University, graduating cum laude with a BSM degree. As a fifth-generation Californian, Katie enjoys spending her weekends at the beach, playing golf and tennis, attending kickboxing classes and watching San Diego Chargers football.
